Effect of Ayurvedic Interventions on Toxemia of Pregnancy (Preeclampsia) & Fetal Outcome- A Randomized Placebo-Controlled Trial

Background: Toxemia of pregnancy also known as preeclampsia is a common clinical condition affecting 8-10% pregnancies worldwide. It has adverse outcome both for mother and fetus. The management options are mainly targeted to prevent outcomes associated premature births, such administration antenatal corticosteroids magnesium sulphate infusions.
 Aim & Objectives: main aim the study was evaluate efficacy Ayurvedic interventions in toxemia prevention delivery well fetal hazards due pre-eclampsia.
 Methods: an open ended, parallel group, randomized placebo controlled trial with equal allocation groups. Sample size 15 each group. Trial group administered Gokshura Siddha Yavagu(Green gram gruel medicated Tribulus terrestris Linn) Dhatryavaleha (linctus prepared Ayurveda medicines like Phyllanthus emblica L.)while control treated similar looking placebo-linctus.
 Results: Both ayurvedic parameters-Shotha(edema), Avil mutrata (Discolored urine) features have shown excellent relief while patients either show poor or no when assessed by USG scan needed further treatment induction labor.
 Conclusion: This concludes that form siddha Yavagu Dhatri Avleha can provide significant symptomatic (p<0.0001) promote normal growth development
